Logo and Image Use Policy for the North Carolina Notary Association (NCNA)

Purpose

The North Carolina Notary Association (NCNA) logo represents professionalism, integrity, and trust. This policy ensures that all members use NCNA’s branding consistently and respectfully when promoting their notarial services or affiliation with the Association.

Ownership & Rights

The NCNA logo and all related imagery are the exclusive property of the North Carolina Notary Association.
Use of the logo:

  • Does not transfer ownership or grant endorsement rights.

  • Must always reflect a truthful affiliation (for example: “Proud Member of the North Carolina Notary Association”).

  • May be used only as described in this policy and may not be altered in any way.

Who May Use the Logo

Active NCNA members in good standing are permitted to display the NCNA logo for professional identification only, including:

  • On business cards, flyers, and brochures

  • On personal or business websites identifying NCNA membership

  • In email signatures or online professional profiles

  • In educational or community presentations promoting notary professionalism

Prohibited Uses

To protect the NCNA brand, members may not:

  • Use the logo to imply endorsement, certification, or partnership by NCNA

  • Display the logo on items for sale (e.g., apparel, merchandise) without written approval

  • Alter the logo’s shape, color, proportions, or add effects such as shadows or overlays

  • Use the logo after membership expires, is suspended, or revoked

  • Combine the logo with another logo, emblem, or text that changes its meaning

  • Use the logo in any way that could harm NCNA’s reputation or appear misleading

Design & Branding Standards

To maintain consistency across all platforms:

  • Always use official NCNA logo files provided by the Association

  • Keep a clear space around the logo (no text or graphics touching it)

  • Do not stretch, crop, or recolor the logo

  • Follow any additional rules outlined in NCNA’s Brand Identity Guidelines

Members can request official logo files and brand guidelines by emailing
membership@ncnotary.org

Digital & Online Use

When using the NCNA logo on websites or social media:

  • Link the logo to www.ncnotary.org when possible

  • Always include a clear statement such as “Proud Member of the North Carolina Notary Association”

  • The logo may not be used as a social media profile picture, cover photo, or company logo unless approved in writing

Loss of Usage Rights

Authorization to use the NCNA logo ends immediately when:

  • Membership status becomes inactive, suspended, or revoked; or

  • A member violates this policy.

When that occurs, members must remove the logo from all websites, printed materials, and digital assets without delay.

Policy Enforcement

NCNA reserves the right to:

  • Request immediate removal of any unauthorized or improper use, and

  • Take disciplinary or legal action to protect its brand integrity, if necessary.
